YOU DID THE WORK, THEY WON'T PAY. WHAT NEXT?
Collecting money is a process that starts with specialized paperwork. I charge less than many Attorneys to organize that paperwork.
While I do the paperwork, you can continue making new money as a Builder. If they offer to pay less than they owe, you can also authorize me to negotiate on your behalf.
I have found that when people refuse to pay they might claim that your work is bad or incomplete. In the alternative, they might misunderstand what the contract required you to do. In these situations I help them see that you followed the plans and specifications. This is when a little clarity can save big legal fees.
Other times, they may refuse to pay simply because they think they can get away with it. This is when litigation can be the only way to get your due.
I once encountered an abusive Federal Contracting Officer who used nonpayment as retaliation for my blowing the whistle when he illegally awarded a contract to another contractor. My thorough documentation recovered more than $300,000 that was due.
If you end up needing an Attorney's services, they can start your law suit usiing the paperwork that I already prepared, saving both you and your lawyer time and money.
Let me hear your story, start a discussion, and take it from there.
